Union Aviation AS operates in the private jet aviation sector, providing full-cycle aircraft management services. The Company ensures the continuous airworthiness of aircraft, coordinates flight planning and operations, manages aircraft charter sales, and supports clients in private jet acquisition transactions.
To support the continued growth of our finance function, we are looking for an experienced SENIOR ACCOUNTANT to join our international business aviation company. You will become part of a finance team of 10 professionals, lead a team of three accountants, and report directly to the Chief Accountant.
Key competencies we are looking for
- Higher education in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- At least 3 years of professional accounting experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Fluent Latvian and English language skills
- Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical thinking
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and take ownership of responsibilities
Key responsibilities
Accounting & financial operations
- Process supplier invoices, post journal entries, and prepare bank payments
- Reconcile general ledger accounts, sub-ledgers, and intercompany balances
- Maintain accurate, compliant, and timely accounting and management records
- Ensure the accuracy and completeness of entries and supporting documentation
Compliance, controls & reporting
Contributeto monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting- Ensure proper cost allocation, accruals, and expense recognition
- Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders
- Prepare statutory, tax, and statistical reports in line with regulatory requirements
Process improvement & team collaboration
- Support, guide, and mentor junior team members
- Act as a backup for Senior Accountants ensuring business continuity
- Drive continuous improvements in accounting processes and systems
- Collaborate with colleagues across departments to improve financial processes
